A one-person powerhouse delivering blues-infused indie folk — fiery songs about the hardships of love, life and time-travel.
Twin Swords of Arslantepe
Drawn from an ancient crossroads — the kind where civilisations traded swords and stories — Twin Swords of Arslantepe arrives as a first glimpse of a new direction. Mythic imagery, blues-steeped bones.
Juju Marinero is a one-person powerhouse delivering blues-infused indie folk. Debuting at a theatre festival in 2019, his gritty acoustic songs have echoed at festivals and music venues all around Hungary — and the time has come to spread the love across Europe and beyond.
Juju Marinero (loosely translated as "sailor-spell") is the alter-ego of Dávid Katona, a Transylvanian-born travelling composer and calligrapher. After exploring the perks and perils of full-time street performing from Andalusia to Istanbul — and gracing European stages from Amsterdam's Paradiso to Sziget Festival with the prog-folk fusion Closingtown Orchestra — this rambling gentleman dived headfirst into the multinational theatrical world of the Carpathian Basin.
Currently dwelling in the secret woodland valleys of Northern Hungary, Juju Marinero distils his scars and pearls into fiery songs about the hardships of love, life and time-travel.
Dirty blues guitar.
Howling vocals.
A fair amount of
